"Get over dammit!" _________ yelled.
Dean swerved over and barely made the exit.
"I barely know you, don't tell me what to do," Dean growled.
"Shut up," she snarled. Dean huffed.
"You two are like children," Sam sighed.
"Thanks for your help and all, but I don't need you guys," ________ said dryly. She closed her eyes before opening the door and rolling out onto the side of the road. She grabbed her bloodied shoulder and stood up. She wobbled along the white line.
"Dean, stop the fucking car!" Sam shouted.
"She don't need us," Dean said, running a hand through his hair. He glanced back through the rearview mirror. "See, she's walking."
"What if your door gets taken off?" Sam asked quietly.
Dean slammed the brakes. "Sam, get out, close my damn door, make sure princess is alright and get back in. We have a motel to be at."
The dark road was lit up only by the Impala's lights and the stars.
"You okay?" Sam asked, eying _______'s torn up shoulder.
"I'm fine, but thank you." Sam caught her eye and looked up as lightening cracked across the sky.
"Come on, I'll drive. Please come with us. It's always nice to have another hunter and Cas likes you."
"The angel?" she asked incredulously.
"Yeah."
They stood in the dark, listening as the rain began to hit the cracked asphalt.
"You need a home."
And _________ felt those warm hot tears roll down her cheeks, glad it was raining to hide them. Sam wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close.
The younger Winchester knew when a person was crying, even in the rain and the dark. He took her hand and led her back to the car.
Dean snapped at him when Sam told him to get out of the drivers seat.
________ and Castiel rode in the back again. Sam slammed his hand on the volume button and the sound of torrential rain filled their ears. Dean fell asleep in the passenger seat.
Castiel stared at _______, even after she noticed. She smiled slightly. Even though her eyes were still glossy with tears and a bit puffy, he thought she was the most beautiful thing.
"What is wrong?" he asked.
"I... Nothing," she replied, closing her eyes to keep the searing tears in. Castiel looked into her mind.
"You suffer. You have a need for a place with a family and permanence. You need a person to hold onto." He squinted at her. "You are alone."
"Shut up," she whispered, feeling her throat tighten.
Castiel reached out and held his hand to her wounded shoulder. His touch burned at first, but eventually numbed and cooled pleasantly. She reached up to her shoulder and took his hand. She brushed her lips against his fingers. "Thank you," she said politely.
Castiel had nothing to say.

You laughed at Dean's joke before pausing, sensing a strange silence. "What?" You kept your expression cool, but you reached down for your gun. You had just returned from a hunting trip, so this silence wasn't a good thing. But Dean's next sentence turned off your "hunting" mode.
"So, there's this...guy who helps us out on hunts as well. He's at the bunker, so...you're gonna meet him. He's working with Sam right now." You blinked, then nodded.
"Aaaaaand...?"
"Well, he's...different. He doesn't quite get...anything."
"Dean. I'm a hunter. I think I can get over a guy who can't get jokes." He just sighs and shakes his head. Why?

You yawned, uncurling, before you stopped. You realized it was warm underneath you. And that that warmth was alive. You yelped, jumping off of Castiel's lap, who looked at you confused, then smiled.
"Ah. (f/n), I see you aren't a puppy anymore." He smiled brightly, and stood up, wrapping you in a hug.
"Wait. Hold up. I was a DOG?!"
"Yes. An adorable fluffy one, if I remember."
"I. WAS. A. FLUFFY. PUPPY?!" You spun around. "WHERE'S DEAN AND SAM?!"

"We're going to need help," said Castiel as paced about the room, thinking of who could be of help to them in this situation. Sam and Dean sat quietly at the large table where papers and books were scattered about. "We need Gabriel," the angel concluded.
Dean was quick to protest. "Hell no, Cas."
The angel looked ready to speak when Sam interrupted. Surprisingly, he wasn't against it.
"Dean, he's our only chance," he went on despite his brother's glare, "(y/n) said Gabe and her are close. He'd be the only one willing to help us."
Dean wasn't willing to go along with it, but they needed to save you. "Fine."
Castiel nodded and it took barely
